Slack Bird combines the best sides of the deep south and the cold north putting together classic Appalachian banjo playing and the dark melodies of drony Finnish traditional music. Hailing from Central Finland, Slack Bird has toured around the world from the clubs of New York City to mud huts in German forests and everything in between. So far Slack Bird has released three full-length albums, a bunch of singles, a couple of EPs, and in the spring of 2025 the fusion folk group will be releasing their fourth studio album "Jos emme saa tanssia". The upcoming full-length deepens Slack Bird's fusion of roots music adding early Finnish pop music from the 1920's, Balkan horns, punk, and New Orleans jazz into the mix of Appa-Nordic folk. In the wake of the album release, Slack Bird hits the road once again performing around Europe and the UK as a 5-piece band.
